Henning and Fortuna Düsseldorf ounces Classification
Review of February 6th: Fortuna Düsseldorf has just received the 0: 1 in the third minute of stoppage time in Kiel and is on the relegation rank with 20 points after 21 match days, four points behind Dynamo Dresden.
Today, two and a half months and ten games later, the world looks very different: F95 has been unbeaten for ten games, stands eight points ahead of Dresden and the relegation place – and is annoyed: Because the Fortuna, which flows under the new coach Daniel Thioune and Since the Kiel game no longer lost, Dresden had the great chance of making it clear prematurely with a threesome and putting the points account at 40.
“Had the feeling that we are very stable”
But they have left behind, over 25,000 spectators in front of a home backdrop-and despite the 2-0 lead: “That doesn’t feel quite as good,” said Thioune at the “Sky” microphone after the 2-2. “After 60 minutes I already had the feeling that we were very stable.”
Until then and afterwards, the Fortuna had numerous opportunities to make the decision. “We have to attribute it ourselves today. I myself had four or five things on my foot, which I unfortunately did not make,” said Rouwen Hennings, who was wearing the captain’s armband, the reason for the draw.
“The chances were there. It’s annoying”
The 34 -year -old was always hardworking and a lot on the go, but luckless in front of the goal – especially when he scored the goal in the 57th minute of the game from a short distance. “The chances were there, we didn’t do them. It’s annoying,” said Hennings.
The starting point of the Fortuna is still comfortable three game days before the end, the Rhinelanders are currently eleventh, but the upcoming opponents are called Heidenheim, Darmstadt and St. Pauli, all from the upper half of the table. It would have preferred the Fortuna responsible to celebrate the relegation in the old town prematurely with a win.
