Fabregas reveals: azpilicueta

Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed in a twitch stream with the Spanish journalist Gerard Romero that Cesar Azpilicueta will leave the FC Chelsea in summer with great security and switch to FC Barcelona.

“Azpi to Barca is as good as through,” said Fabregas, who played with Azpilicueta from 2014 to 2019 together at Chelsea and also in the Spanish national team.

The contract of the 32-year-old outer defender expires in summer, talking about an extension to date to the emptiness. According to media reports from England, Chelsea Azpilicueta wants to offer only one year-round contract with the option for an extension for another year. That in turn is too little to the captain of the blues. At Barca he should receive a two-year contract.

Azpilicueta came in 2012 for around nine million euros from Olympique Marseille to FC Chelsea and is currently at 458 competitive games for the blues. Under coach Thomas Tuchel, he is also the most part of this season, although in October and November of last year, he spent a month for a month without a time minutes in the Premier League. Last week, he achieved his first goal this season in FA Cup against Plymouth.

The FC Barcelona committed a 38-year-old club icon last on the right defender position in Dani Alves, because Sergino Dest, who had encountered the Catalans in October 2020, could not meet expectations. Atletico Madrid is also intended to be interested in an azpilicueta commitment in summer.
